Bird Watching
Wherever you travel with us, birds will be found in abundance, although some areas offer better birding than others. The greatest number of birds may be seen between October and March, when the migrants are present. |

Water Activities
In many of the regions we cover, opportunities exist to explore the wildlife of the waterways. In some areas, traveling by canoe or mokoro (dugout canoe) may be the best or only way to reach certain destinations. Canoeing is generally not strenuous and both young and old find canoeing to be a memorable experience. |
In certain camps, we offer boating activities when the water levels are high enough. We travel out by boat looking for game and birds, while enjoying the peaceful scenery. White water rafting activities along the majestic Zambezi river are also on offer.
Several of the camps we work with offer fishing as an activity. Catch and release practices are encouraged, although certain areas with dense/healthy fish populations permit you to take your catch to the camp chef so he or she can prepare fresh sashimi or a sumptous fish dish for you. If you are a keen fly fisherman, we recommend that you bring your own equipment. |

Bush Walks
Walk or hike through wild and remote areas of Africa while learning the secrets of the bush from your expert guide. Most people enjoy a two- to three-hour slow paced walk over flat terrain from the lodge in the morning with a game drive in the afternoon. We also arrange spectacular walking safaris ranging from a few days to two weeks or longer. |

Animal-back Safaris
Viewing wildlife from the back of an animal is a surreal experience. It is very peaceful and since wild game see you and the horse, elephant or camel as one, you are able to get a lot closer to wild animals than you would on foot. For experienced riders, we offer multi-day horseback safaris with professional rider-guides in stunning areas in Kenya, Botswana and Tanzania. |

Quadbiking
Whether quadbiking into the great unknown on the Magkadikgadi salt pans on the edge of the Kalahari desert, or over the remote, endless dunes of the northern Skeleton Coast searching for wildlife or nomadic tribes, or along the well-marked trails on the banks of the mighty Zambezi, this activity is exhilirating and enables you to explore wild areas not accessible by foot or safari vehicles. |

Game Drives
Game drives, both day and night, are the most popular activity with clients on safari. Game drives last anywhere from two hours to whole day excursions with lunch in the bush. Night game drives in private wildlife reserves or concessions allow you to see nocturnal animals such as leopards, porcupines and aardvarks. Nighttime is also when most of the African predators are most active with their hunting. |

Hides
Some camps have ‘hides’ where you can leave your vehicle and watch wildlife peacefully while reading a novel or updating your journal, from the safety of the hide. |

Tracking
One of the most exhilarating experiences in life must be tracking African wildlife on foot. Your professional guide will teach you the fine art of tracking. You will learn how to differentiate between animal species by their spoor, discern their recent actions and behaviors from inspecting droppings or tree and leaf fragments, and estimate their pace through the bush as you quietly follow in their footsteps. |
