CAN YOU DESCRIBE THE ACCOMMODATIONS ONE SHOULD EXPECT?
All luxury rooms and tents in our portfolio are designed to enable our guests to experience every comfort. All safari lodges and tented camps are tastefully designed and many of them provide first class accommodations not dissimilar in quality, service and amenities to the Aman, Banyan Tree or Four Seasons resorts most Asians are familiar with. All tents and rooms are fitted with large deluxe beds (with mattresses and duvets), en suite (attached, in room) flush toilets, basins and showers with hot and cold running water and good lighting (mostly 12 volts). There is always a fresh supply of towels, face cloths, soaps, shampoos and body lotion. Certain camps have an additional and optional outdoor shower or bath "under the stars" to bring you even closer to nature. The camps are sprayed on a regular basis with environmentally friendly chemicals effective against mosquitoes and malaria. Our partners have a remarkably good record in this regard.
Other amenities include mosquito netting, lamps, bottled mineral water or purified water in carafes, insect repellent, flashlights, wardrobes and ethnic furnishings.
Staying at a luxury tented camp allows guests to enjoy the comforts of a room with the unforgettable sights and sounds of the African bush. Most luxury tented camp rooms consist of very large walk in tents (most often larger than hotel rooms) with wooden doors or Velcro/zippered entries to keep insects out. Walls are canvas with large roll-up viewing sections. Inside you will enjoy a proper bed (a queen/king or 2 twin beds depending on your preference) with pillows and duvets, bed side tables, dressing table, wardrobe, throw rugs or full carpeting, inverter generator or battery powered (solar) lighting, en suite (attached, in room) shower with hot and cold running water, flush toilet, and basin. Some tents even include baths. You will definitely not be "roughing it".
WHAT TYPES OF SAFARIS DOES A to A SAFARIS ARRANGE AND
WHAT TYPES OF ACCOMMODATION ARE ON OFFER?
A to A Safaris arranges primarily tailor-made fly-in or mobile safaris that depart upon request for one or more people or groups. In addition, we are able to offer special interest or privately guided small group (typically 6-8 people) safaris with set departure dates each year. Whether you choose to explore Africa on a tailor-made safari or join a special interest safari there are 3 different levels of luxury to be enjoyed:
Premier: Our premiere collection of camps includes exclusive safari accommodations in the finest wildlife viewing areas in Africa. These camps have much larger bedrooms than our other camps, usually with additional features such as outdoor "salas" or verandahs and/or private pools.
Classic: Our classic camps are very special luxury tented camps and lodges offering superb accommodations, facilities and service. These camps and lodges are also located in the best wildlife and wilderness areas (often on private concessions) and you will enjoy the company of Africa's top guides.
Exploration/Mobile: Our luxury mobile camps are more rustic (because the camps need to be moved regularly to follow wildlife movements), usually accommodating fewer guests and are usually simpler in design but equally comfortable and special. These camps are set up to take advantage of game movements - such as the wildebeest migration in Tanzania and Kenya, gorilla viewing in Rwanda and Uganda and seasonal game concentrations in the Kalahari in Botswana - and are located in private and stunning areas.
DOES A to A SAFARIS GUIDE AND OPERATE THE SAFARIS?
A to A Safaris is a safari company which specialize solely in Africa travel and offer a comprehensive travel service which includes planning and consultation, intra-Africa air ticket bookings, trip insurance advice and land arrangements. We do not operate safari lodges or camps but we work with a select group of world-class guides should you choose a privately guided safari.
We offer tailor-made safaris that we design around your personal needs. We also offer a variety of safari packages - some are group trips with set departure dates run by quality African safari operators such as Wilderness Safaris, Cheli and Peacock, Nomad Tanzania and Origin Safaris. Either way, we work hand in hand with our partners to ensure that your trip runs smoothly.
We take pride in the dedication, experience and enthusiasm of our staff and all our partners which we have hand-picked over the last decade. From top management to camp staff, everyone is committed to ensuring that everything is done to make each safari a memorable experience. This professionalism has attracted guides who are serious about a career in wildlife and are very experienced in their region of operation. They are all excellent naturalists, keen conservationists, and quite a few are accomplished photographers.
DOES A TO A SAFARIS LOOK AFTER US WHILE WE ARE ON SAFARI?
On a tailor-made safari where you will be moving from one lodge or camp to another, you will be met at each airport, lodge, camp or transfer point by representatives of Asia to Africa Safaris or representatives from the lodges and camps at which you are staying. You will always have our contact telephone numbers (including emergency cell phone numbers) as well as numbers and addresses of our ground operators in each country you will visit. We are always contactable to handle your arrangements - from flight changes, to a misplaced pocketbook, to retrieving a bag that may have been left behind and having it delivered to your next destination.
Rest assured you will always feel safe throughout your stay in Africa.
